The Central Hall door puzzle stands out as one of the first environmental challenges players encounter while navigating the Library Annex. Solving this puzzle grants access to hidden treasure chests containing valuable gear and cosmetic items.

Understanding the Math Behind Arithmancy Doors

Each arithmancy door displays a set of numbers, creature symbols, and central totals that must be calculated. The creatures surrounding the door frame represent numbers from 0 to 9, starting with the Demiguise on the bottom left as zero. By adding the outer numbers and creature values together, players can determine the missing digit needed to reach the center total.

Locating the Rollers in the Central Hall

To input your solution, you must find two interactive wall dials labeled with single and double question marks. In the Central Hall, the single question mark dial is located on the wall directly to the left of the door. The double question mark dial can be found on the upper balcony directly above the puzzle door mechanism.

Solving the Central Hall Door Equations

The top triangle requires a specific number combination that adds up to the number shown in the center circle. Calculating the missing value reveals which creature symbol must be selected on the first wall dial. Solving the bottom equation similarly dictates the correct creature alignment for the second dial on the balcony level.
